The Legion De Lafayette

Major Donors – The Legion de Lafayette (LDL)

Become an NGEF major donor and join the Legion de Lafayette! Corporations, individuals, families, foundations, and state associations are invited to join this prestigious society.

Named after the Marquis de Lafayette, who visited New York’s Seventh Regiment in 1824 and inspired by his own Guard Nationale de Paris in France, gave the National Guard its enduring name, the Legion de Lafayette was established in 1987 to recognize patrons who significantly advance NGEF’s work.

The minimum contribution for entry into the Legion is $10,000. As a badge of membership, in 1987 NGEF cast a medallion from the original Lafayette medal commissioned by the Seventh Regiment and suspended it from a red, white, and blue ribbon.

Benefits include:

  • An induction ceremony and reception at the National Guard Memorial
  • Permanent inscription on the LDL Wall of Honor
  • Recognition in NATIONAL GUARD Magazine
  • Distinguished Guest status every year at the NGAUS annual conference
  • Invitations to exclusive events
  • The Legion de Lafayette comprises over 300 corporatestate and individual members.
  • Various additional benefits
